Thunder & the sea
by Juan De La Cruz
What is it about the thunder that calls us to the sea?
Is it the belows that remind us how small we are?
Or does it becon us to take part of something greater?
Those deep daunting crackling vibrations that ring in your chest
As we huddle and listen to the shuing of god's feet.
It hums like an old tune with an even older message.
Oh hounding, tumbling and pounding thunder, how do you
Instal fear, and yet call us to our destiny? With your
Flashy dancing, your percussion a symphony of the
Tall tales of humanity-orchestra. We can't help but
Watch in awe and respect for it is you who reminds us;
We are more than just travelers. We can also be
Grand and daunting, leave others fond and in wanting
Of
Greatness.
So then
Perhaps,
It is the lighting who we wish to join and in turn, embody.
As it is man who seeks such great things, yet cowers in its site,
As a child who tempts the sleeping giant. But
Once seeing its head rear in terrifying fashion cries,
And wonders…
What is it about the thunder that calls us to the sea?
