The Best Way

by Patsy Creedy

The best way
To learn
A language
Is to live in its country
Immersed in the streets and cafes
Dreaming in its whispering accent
Grief is the language
Of my new country
I live in its countryside
Recognize the spring flowers
And the birds
Singing to the field forming
In my body
